Photo Shoot

These are some pictures from a birthday party that we threw for Gwen and her friend, Ella. I had a blast working with Ella’s mom, Laura and wanted to show the fun Ballerina Photo Booth we did as well as the adorable cupcake toppers that Laura’s sister made (she sells them on Etsy).

homemade jpegs

I’m sure this isn’t a new art to many of you, but I wanted to share some of the different things I’ve created and then later printed as a photo or poster at Costco or onto nice cardstock as an invitation.

We used these as Thank You notes after Christmas.

These are all the trial and errors for Gavin’s wedding invites… The final is at the bottom with the map and sealing invitation.

This was printed poster size for the Young Men/Women on Wednesday nights. It is the mutual theme for the year.

This was a poster that was created to advertise for a fireside.

Stephanie and I worked together on this for all the nieces. They were printed in 11x17…

I don’t know if this is really a craft or not, but it is something that I really enjoy creating!

Canvas Lace Bag

I got this idea from here. Take a canvas bag, about $3 at Walmart, and tape a doily to it. Sponge some acrylic paint through the holes. (they used fabric paint, but I didn't have any) Then, I printed and cut out the letter in the size and font that I wanted, traced it on and then filled it in with a small brush. Voila!

Hugs & Pretzels

I'm sure you've seen these before, but it was a first for us and they are so yummy. We made up ten or so plates of these to give to our friends, but only one plate got given away. The rest were slowly eaten! Opps!

Place waffle or twist pretzels on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper.

Then put a Hugs on each pretzel.

Get really excited!

Place them in 170 degree oven for 4-6 minutes.

Push an M&M on to each Hug and let cool. We put them in the fridge.
And enjoy!

Christmas ornaments

Jessi and I did a craft day, in which we made ornaments for Christmas and tags (not pictured) I like that I can make these out of plastic ornaments.

Bias Strip Skirts and Bow Ties

Jessi found this cute skirt tutorial for the wedding.  Dandi and I loved it so we went for it.  And WOW did they  come out cute!  They were like walking decorations at the reception.  The skirts were really easy to make, but after Dandi cut out all the strips for us and Jessi and I  sewed them around and around 10 skirts we were all glad to be done with them.  Jessi picked out the fabric to match Cadie's colors.  The mix of oranges, fuchsia, and purply pinks went together so beautifully.

Dandi learned how to make bow ties from a friend and made them for the boys and a few of the dads.  They looked so adorable with the girls.  She will have to post a how-to on bow ties.  All the boys loved them.  They wore them to church the next day and loved all the comments people made about them.  I think that Dandi has had lots of requests from them for more bow ties in other colors and patterns.

Here are all the grandkids in their wedding attire with Cadie and Gavin.

A New Niece... A New Car Seat!

I hadn't done one in purple yet, so this was a fun one.

For some reason the soft grip part of the handle has turned sticky, so I made a velcro handle cover to keep the icky stuff off their hands.  Congrats Ben and Nan!  She's a beautiful baby.
